Fashion designer to be honored at breast cancer awareness gala

The famed fashion designer David Meister will soon be honored by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which is an organization focused on raising money and awareness for breast cancer, at it’s annual “Designs for the Cure” gala.

Meister will also be hosting the event, as he has been a member of the Pink Tie Guys for quite some time. The Pink Tie Guys are a group of men who are dedicated to raising awareness for the disease that affects millions around the world.

“As a fashion designer, the focus is so much about appearance,” said Meister. “We really wanted to embrace the idea that fashion is a state of mind that embodies beauty, health and confidence. Susan G. Komen Foundation really makes this message come alive through its impressive campaign to build awareness in the fight against breast cancer.”

Meister is known for his sophisticated and body conscious looks for women. His designs can be found at Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman. He also recently designed the four dresses that Jane Lynch wore while hosting this year’s Emmy Awards.
