The fashion industry is often called upon to deliver creative ideas with a human-centered initiative. For example, Fashion Group International (FGI) of Denver recently announced that it will hold Fashion Passion, a luncheon and runway show to benefit the Women’s Development Association’s (WDA’s) education and training program in the ghettos of Lahore, Pakistan.

Holiday apparel, accessories and jewelry from 15 Colorado designers will be featured on the runway and available for guests to purchase before and after the luncheon. Pakistani dresses and accessories will be on sale as well.

“We are honored to be participating in this event,” said Holli Gibson, a local fashion designer for LamanBlu. “We have a passion for supporting women and children everywhere and FGI and WDA are planning such a special day for everyone involved.”

WDA is a non-governmental organization based in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Their mission is to help educate, train and support women and children in third world nations through literacy, basic mathematics and health education, vocational training and economic development opportunities, according to a press release.
