Interior design contest starts up

Those who feel their bedrooms are so far from what they want them to look like but don’t have the creative mind or the funds to redecorate can enter the Angie’s List contest, according to the Oregonian.

“We’re offering $5,000 and a year-long membership to Angie’s List to find the best local help to make your nightmare bedroom a dream come true,” Angie Hicks, founder of Angie’s List the nation’s premier provider of consumer reviews, told the news source.

Individuals who are eligible need to submit a photo of the room they dispise. The top 25 will be listed on the Angie List’s Facebook page, where fans are able to vote for the worst one. The voting goes from September 26 to October 10, and the winner will be announced October 12, the media outlet reports.

Those who are interested in interior design as a career, may have the opportunity to land a job once they graduate from their design programs. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment is expected to increase by 19 percent between 2008 and 2018.
